SolarSoft – an industry consortium SolarSoft has successfully completed the development of a new PV ribbon production process that allows high-speed efficient and chemical-free production of super-soft PV ribbon. With the help of Plasmait and University of Birmingham the consortium achieved the aim set out from the start: to produce a tinned copper ribbons with low yield strength, the type that are required for interconnecting thin crystalline solar cells. Fine Stainless Steel Wire Can Now Be Annealed In-line with Drawing
It has been widely accepted that stainless steel and nickel alloy wire cannot be annealed quickly enough to go in-line with a drawing or rolling machine. This is now a thing of the past. Plasmait has introduced a new PlasmaANNEALER that is first in the world to anneal fine austenitic stainless steel and nickel alloys wire at the speed of drawing. This new concept allows for a radical increase of continuous annealing speeds that can surpass 20m/s in the case of fine wire sizes of austenitic stainless steels. Continue reading
High-Speed PlasmaANNEALER for Stainless Steel and Nickel Alloy Wire, Tube and Rope
Plasmait has introduced a new PlasmaANNEALER for continuous heat treatment, degreasing and oxide removal of stainless steel and nickel alloy wires up to 5.5mm and tubes up to 12.7mm in diameter. This new machine introduced early 2012 can be designed for annealing, stress relieving or material hardening applications. Continue reading
